My cat is becoming ”famous” unnecessary.
Nam has his eyes operations 3times, plus his furry fur made him an unique look. Boy also likes to troll around the neighbourhood (as all cats do). I’m very happy that he could do so but didn’t know that his look attracted quite some attention. He unintentionally became well known in my building.
Story 1: My favourite neighbour who took care of Nam once mentioned: people seeing Nam outside and looked like they are very pity for him because of his eyes. I was laughing, oh he is fine.
Story 2: one nice Sunday morning while Nam was outside and we were about to have breakfast, the doorbell rang. We didn’t expect any packages, would that be from a neighbour? Hmmm. Once the door opens, 2 ladies introducing them as they are from “animal ambulance” and asked if the furry cat is ours. (Nam, out of curiosity seeing someone at the door, also ran home sniffing the ladies’ bag). I was so surprised. The lady explained that they got a call mentioned there might be mistreated cat in this apartment. So shocked hearing that, I gave her detail explaination about why his eyes got dirt and strange tears, what boy has endured during 3 years of his life…apologised the lady and she asked to have pictures of Nam for later identification if someone would call of the same. I’m so upset and angry with coward people who didn’t have enough courage to go directly to my door asking for an explanation but called the animals service.
Story 3: my building WhatsApp group sent a picture that Nam is on Facebook group of the area. Someone posted a picture asking if anyone knows the cat because he looked like he’s lost…Cats usually like wandering around, especially when the weather is good. Nam is not an exception. He doesn’t let anyone touching him as he’s outside, which doesn’t seem a friendly to everyone. But he’s very affectionate when he’s inside…
Side note: I noticed here in the Netherlands (maybe in Europe in general) it’s just so easy and convenient for people to show their opinions by phone, calling help service, social media… so I feel like sometimes they overused it. Instead of a face to face talking, one could get irritated easily and called the police complained they heard noise during evening, or like my story about Nam
